Annual Congress 2018 Summary

The EPC Annual Congress 2018: Fit for the Future, was hosted by Harper Adams University. Following an eclectic selection of hands-on activities and entertainment, Congress 2018 was officially opened by EPC President, Professor Sarah Spurgeon. She urged that engineering HE should not invite others to “come and join us in our engineering box” but instead, we should “stamp down on the very edges of that box”.

The theme of adaptation held through the three key pathways to practice: engineering education, working with industry, and accreditation. The Congress Dinner opened with the esteemed Dame Ann Dowling, and closed with the very funny Anna Ploszajski, stand-up comic and materials engineer. Following his election at the AGM, we are delighted to announce Professor Colin Turner, University of Ulster, as our President Elect. He closed the proceedings before delegates at last embarked on a tour of the world’s first Hands-Free Hectare.

Slides and a summary of proceedings is available to members.
